NEW! Painter
Location:
20 Lorne Street, Jackson’s Point
I am a Canadian alla-prima oil painter based in Jackson’s Point, Ontario. I have a Bachelor of Fine Art Honours degree from Queen’s University, with a Major in Visual Art and a Minor in Art History.
I have sat on the Board of Directors for Union Gallery in Kingston and taken part in festivals such as the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Uxbridge Art in the Park, and the Purple Turtle Art Festival, to name a few. I teach multi-week oil painting lessons at the GCAC, and I have two oil paintings in the permanent collection at the GCAC.
I am proudly represented by the Elaine Fleck Gallery on Queen St. West, Toronto, and they curate, market, and sell my work to clients in the Toronto art scene. I have been involved in many group and duo exhibitions through my representing gallery in Toronto with other emerging and established artists in Canada.
I specialize in combining interior scenes and still-life that explore my journey of moving forward with grief and personal challenges through the lens of healing and growth. Dutch seventeenth-century master painters inform my connection to my Dutch heritage and the visual style I choose to convey in my work. Their emotionally charged colour palettes and domestic interiors inspire me to reinvent them in contemporary ways.
