I have always loved to draw, as a child it was a thrill to get a new box of Crayola’s or Laurentian pencils! In college I explored everything from rug hooking to acid etching and life drawing. Work life has been visually oriented, including 10 years as a retail display coordinator and 20 plus as a paint and decorating consultant. Now I am happy to be back in the world of fine art and personal expression, transitioning from home décor to nature for inspiration. I work in acrylics, water colour, and soft pastels, a wonderful mix that combines drawing, expressive mark making and vibrant colour. I love taking classes, discovering new ways to create. Schools include Newmarket School of Fine Art, Fleming College, OCAD Cont. Ed., Avenue Road School of Art, and Neilson Park Creative Centre. I also began plein air painting last summer, a whole new adventure.

I find inspiration while hiking and travelling, taking time to notice the vibrant world of colour, shape and texture that surrounds us. You will often find me on a trail, fascinated by tree roots, in awe of a moss-covered rocks and delighted by a winding creek. Painting is my attempt to capture the mood of these moments, adding a personal twist, bringing the outdoors in. In 2023, as a member of Soyra (Society of York Region Artists), I participated in The Aurora Art Show & Sale (1st place Acrylics) and Soyra Small Works Show. I also showed work in ARAS Now: Avenue Road Arts School Show and Hand Eye Correlation Show (Neilson Park Creative Centre).
