NEW! Visual Artist
Location:
23 Burnaby Dr, Keswick
Taryn grew up in Scarborough, Ontario. She currently lives in Keswick, Ontario. Taryn expressed interest in the Visual Arts from a very young age. She studied Visual Art in high school, majored in Philosophy at York University, and got her BED (Bachelor of Education) at University of Windsor. She teaches grade four in Beaverton, Ontario, where she motivates students to be as creative as possible.
Animals and people are what inspire Taryn to draw. She loves to capture their intricate details, patterns, and designs. Her preferred mediums are graphite and colored pencil. In 2024, Taryn started a small business called “Tiny Artist Taryn”. Her business name was modeled after her small stature, but also because she considers herself to be one “tiny” puzzle piece of the talented Art community in Ontario.
Taryn was a member of the Art Guild of Scarborough for 10 years, and is currently a member of the NGA (Newmarket Group of Artists). She has participated in many Spring and Fall shows with the Art Guild of Scarborough, but she has also participated in shows in Unionville, Scarborough, and Newmarket. During her time with the Art Guild of Scarborough Taryn received two “Special Merit” awards, and one “Best Drawing” award. She was also published in the “Bluffs Monitor” for her drawing of a ballerina. Recently Taryn was chosen to draw two portraits of the inductees of the Greater Stouffville Business Hall of Fame. The drawings will be permanently displayed in the Whitchurch-Stouffville Town Hall.
