J.J. Martyn is a printmaker and mixed media artist. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking and Photography from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. A true maker of all things big and small, she finds satisfaction in creating everyday, always looking to discover and explore new mediums and techniques in her work. Her art is inspired by her experiences of home, family, and travels around the world. Since moving to Sutton in 2021, She has rekindled her love of printmaking, working in her home studio creating mono type Gelli prints, lino and wood cuts along with etchings using recycled materials. She shares her passion for creative play through teaching printmaking at the Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture (GCAC), inspiring her students to “Make their Mark”. Most recently, J.J. was featured as the artist in residence at the GCAC, and her work can be found in private collections across Canada and Europe.
